My name is John Duke. My wife is Suzanne and we have 2 girls - one named Audrey and the other named Grace.

When I launched this blog about my girls in November 2008 Audrey was roughly 2 and a half years and Grace was nearly 2 and a half months. So 2andahalf.com it was.

Audrey

Audrey was born in 2006. She had olive skin, steel-grey eyes and nearly black hair at birth. Today she has fair skin, brown eyes and hair that is sandy blonde with broad curls. Neither I nor my wife has curls like hers so we get questions about where her curls come from. The answer? We wake up an hour early every day to curl her hair and make them look perfect. Needless to say we're tired.

Grace

Grace was born in 2008. She was slightly smaller than her sister and had black hair and dark blue eyes. Today she has blonde, whispy hair and the bluest eyes I have ever seen. She can furrow her brow in the most serious way and when she laughs everyone smiles. 

The here and now

Audrey and Grace are great friends. Audrey's skepticism about having a new sister has transformed into love and camaraderie. On occasion we'll get requests from Audrey for an older brother and it's hard to explain that it would be impossible for the girls to have an older brother (unless we adopt) but, anyway.
