Want some summer fun? Here's what I'm talking about:
That's what Audrey's and Grace's aunt and uncle spoiled them with while visiting over the weekend. (The kids and watchful parents pictured above didn't come with it.) It's called the Bounce 'N Slide Mega Fort. Mega is about right - this thing has water cannons, two water slides with water sprinklers to keep them slippery, a basketball hoop and a volleyball net. Not to mention it inflates and deflates in minutes. It's the bomb. I think it has been used every day since Saturday and there's no sign of stopping.
Naturally we've attracted attention from lots of the neighborhood kids and probably the neighbors a street or two away - when inflated this thing is hard to miss. Not to mention that with the water turned on the water cannons send a constant stream of water against the plastic wall and make a bit of noise. Throw in the constant hum of the air flow blower and you've got a bit of a racket.
Racket or no racket, the Mega is the mother of all non-commercial water parks. (I hear the next one they are coming out with has a wave pool.) The volleyball net droops a bit and the hoses that supply this thing with its water supply get kinks, but considering how involved this thing really is it's quite easy to set up and use. Like I said above, it takes minutes.
Compare it to the Intex pool we tried out and there's no comparison. Our high hopes for having an above ground pool for the summer swooned when the one we bought had a leak along the seam. Even with a repair kit there's no fixing that. It took hours to set it up. And when it didn't work, more hours to take it down. Written on the box was, "DO NOT RETURN TO STORE, CALL INTEX CORP FOR SERVICE." Sure, sure. Thank goodness for Target - they took the thing back, no problems.
We are happy with the Mega. Thanks Uncle Brian and Auntie Leah.
