When I got married our reverend, during our ceremony, cited many of the reasons Suzanne had told her she wanted to marry me. Editorializing near the end, she said, "Not to mention that she thinks John is a 'hottie'." That was my last recollection of hearing someone use that word. That is, until I had the following conversation with Audrey the other day:
Audrey: "Daddy, Sage said I'm a hottie."
Daddy: "Oh really? And what did you say?"
Audrey: "That he's a hottie too."
Daddy: "I see. And what does 'hottie' mean, do you think?"
Audrey: "That I eat hot food. Like macaroni!"
Daddy is thankful that his 3-year-old remains so innocent.
